York Pistol: New USPSA President

I don't know how long results have been out but I was just on USPSA website and Phil Strader won the USPSA Presidency.

Fun shoots are kind of competition-like, but mostly they are intended for anyone who likes to just come out and enjoy handguns and comraderie. This is a great venue to introduce new folks and families to shooting; we are VERY kid friendly! We don't ask much in the way of equipment, or experience, just that you are safe at all times.

Our funshoots are, accuracy based events, featuring a variety of targets; paper, steel, claybirds, goofy gallery, even a food of the month. The emphasis is on the fun. It is a good time to practice accuracy with any pistol caliber handgun or carbine.

Winners win bragging rights.

We shoot the 4th Saturday of most months, setup and registration at 8:30, shooting about 10:00 am.

Cost is $15 for Adults, $5 for kids.

USPSA MATCH INFO

Every month January - November we run a USPSA action pistol match at York Izaak Walton. Generally they are on the 2nd Sunday of the month, but there are exceptions. See the schedule at our website http://www.yorkiwlaipsc.org/ Most months there is a pistol match, but some months there is a rifle or shotgun match as well. We have a wide variety of shoots scheduled for this year.

Only qualified competitors may compete in a USPSA match at York, but we are always looking for new shooters and go out of our way to get them started. If you have never shot a practical pistol match come out and see one and introduce yourself. We can have you shooting by the following monthly match.
