November 1st Egg Shoot - Now with scores!

We almost beat the rain today, thanks to an early start.  Thanks to all for coming out.  The bonus round turned out to be a lot of fun and I believe next month it will be included in the $20 entry fee for all, although it will be optional and shot after the original round.  We're still learning.  Our next shoot will be December 6th if the weather cooperates.

On Sunday, November 1st we will be having a back pits egg shoot.

This is a 22lr only shoot where you will shoot at egg sized and shaped steel targets with either a rifle 10, 15, 20 and 25 yards, or a pistol at 7, 9, 11, and 13 yards.  There will be 10 eggs at each distance and you get 10 rounds to hit them with.  This is untimed and shot from the standing unsupported position.

The entry fee is $20 for adults, $5 for under 18.  You may shoot twice if you want to shoot both rifle and pistol or 2 different divisions. (for two entry fees of course)  Discounts will apply to pistol committee members who have earned them.  There are no payouts for this match but we do keep score.

Divisions are:
- Red dot rifle
- Iron sighted rifle

- Magnified scope rifle

- Red dot pistol
- Iron sighted pistol
- Magnified scope pistol

NEW THIS MONTH: The Bonus Round - as an additional and optional shoot available only to those who shoot the normal back pits egg shoot:
- For $5 more shoot another 40 rounds as soon as the regular shoot is over TIMED!
4 sets of 10 eggs each, all shot from the closest distance (7 yards for pistol and 10 yards for rifle).  Shot back to back to back.  All 4 runs are timed.  Your score for each run will be your time plus 5 seconds in penalties for each egg left standing.  And only your best 3 rounds count towards your final score.  All divisions above are allowed, and we will separate out bolts from semis.  Please bring 4 magazines as you will be shooting all 4 runs in quick succession.

To sign up email us at yorksignup@gmail.com with your name, division(s) and squad requests, and let me know if you want to shoot the bonus round or not.

On Sunday the schedule works like this:
- 8:30 if you want to help set up
- 9:00 at the latest to pay
- 9:15 for match briefing
- 9:30 we're shooting
Note the schedule has been moved to 30 minutes later than previous egg shoots so it can warm up a little.

We're usually done these things by 11:30 or so.

No magnums or hyper velocity.  Think 1300 fps max.

October 24th Fun Shoot

Saturday, October 24th we will be hosting another Fun Shoot.

There will be 5 stages with 20-30 pieces of steel on each.  There will be no timers.  You will not need a holster.  You may use either if you like.  This is a laid back event and you can do just about anything you like as long as you're safe.  You can shoot any standard caliber handgun or carbine (no magnums or anything faster than 1300 fps).  Shotguns are fine to use with low brass 7.5 or 8 shot.  22lr is OK.  .300 BLK subsonic is ok.  You can switch guns between stages,  You can use two guns per stage (max).  Two or more people can shoot as a team.  On all 5 stages two people can shoot against each other if they want to.  Just be safe.  Kids and new shooters are welcome.

All guns should be unloaded before entering the club grounds.  Handguns will be carried without any magazine inserted in a holster, bag or case.  Long guns will have chamber flags (which we have for sale) and in a cart, case or on a sling.  Eye and ear protection is mandatory, at all times, even for spectators (which are welcome).

The entry fee is $20 for 18 and over.  $5 for under 18.  There is no advance sign up.  Just be there before 8:30 am if you want to shoot (after 8:30 if you want to be a spectator).  We will do a match briefing at 8:45 and be shooting by 9:00 am.
