February FunShoot

This coming Saturday, Feb the 25th, we will be hosting our monthly FunShoot. The weather looks a little dicey, but the show will go on.

So,

On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.

Target count will be around 100 targets. There will be some movement required of the shooter, but not a ton.
This is a free form shoot. I will present shooters with targets, it is up to the shooter to decide how best to engage them, as long as it is done in a safe manner.

Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, the 24th at 2pm. Email me if you are interested in helping out, it will take less than an hour.

York is a cold range. Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, slung, carted or in a sock. Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale. There is no carrying of loaded firearms, open or concealed.

Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!

Everyone on the range MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH SIDE SHIELDS. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion.

Amazon Smile!

It always surprises me, how many of us use Amazon, but do not know/forget about Amazon Smile!

Amazon Smile! is this cool thing where Amazon donates a small percentage of your Amazon purchase to a charitable organization. It can be used with Amazon Prime! and doesn't cost you a penny.

Once a quarter or so, Amazon adds it all up and sends us cash.

And its easy.  Goto this link https://smile.amazon.com/ch/23-2047305

and simply login. Be sure, when you select the charitable organization, you select "Izaak Walton League of America, York Chapter No. 67", There are about a bazillion chapters listed, and an incorrect selection will send your donations to another chapter.

Happy shopping, and Thanks.  It really works, we are seeing real dollars coming to the club.

Results

Today was a bit soggy, as in it never really let up much but 25 brave men and women shot, and by all accounts had fun.

Congratulations to match winner Kevin Downing, who not only hasn't shot a shotgun since October, but used a borrowed gun today.

February 12th match

We will be having our first action match of the year next Sunday, February 12th.  It will be a shotgun only match held on the trap fields.  Only 7.5 shot or smaller may be used, and less than 3 drams equivalent, or 1200 fps, because they are trap field rules.  Expect to shoot a minimum of 62 rounds, with make-ups quite possible.  Cost will be $15.

To sign up I need your name, division, and if you have a squadding preference.  Pay attention here:  squadding preference is by time.  The choices are 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 or 2:00.  If things go as planned it should only take you an hour to shoot, although I want everyone ready to go at least 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled time, and if they are much earlier to help out the squad ahead that would really help things along.  The 10:00 squad should plan on being there at 9:00 to help me set up.  That's all it should take.  The 2:00 squad should plan on tearing down and putting everything away.  It shouldn't take long either.

You may should always email sign up emails to yorksignup@gmail.com
