I have made changes and additions.  If you find any issue email me.

Thanks to everyone who came out.  This was our first Falling Steel match and by all accounts everyone enjoyed it.  We'll be doing it 3 times next year, and we are looking forward to more shooters and some improvements.

September FunShoot

This Saturday, the 23rd of September we will be hosting another EXPANDED VERSION of our monthly FunShoot. I got a lot of good feedback last month, so the new format is here to stay.

We will be sporting 6 1/2 stages in the back pits. Target count will be around 100-125 falling steel targets (and a harvest food for September.).

This is a free form shoot. I will present shooters with targets, it is up to the shooter to decide how best to engage them, as long as it is done in a safe manner.

On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 (or more) to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.

Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.

NOTE THIS CHANGE There will be a setup this Thursday evening, the 22nd at 5pm. And another Friday morning at 10 am if necessary.  Please Email me if you are interested in helping out.

York is a cold range. Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, slung, carted or in a sock. Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale. There is no carrying of loaded firearms, open or concealed.

Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!

Everyone on the range MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH SIDE SHIELDS. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion. There will be eye protection for sale.

August FunShoot, MORE STAGES!!!!!

This Saturday, the 26th of August we will be hosting AN EXPANDED VERSION of our monthly FunShoot.
Due to increased shooter count, we are ADDING 2 STAGES to this event, in order to thin the squads a bit. What this means for you, smaller arrays and less waiting around.  All stages will still be in the back pits. Target count will still be around 100-125 falling steel targets (maybe more....).

Also, August is the traditional month of the RED DAWN stage. For those running shotguns, I recommend slugs, half a dozen or so, min.

You may bring all 3 to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.

Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, the 25th at 3pm. Email me if you are interested in helping out.

October Falling Steel Match

October 14th and 15th we will be hosting a Falling Steel Match very similar to the PSA Shootout instead of our monthly 3 Gun match.  This match will consist of 6 stages, each of which will have between 25 and 30 pieces of steel on them.  The match fee is $30 (per time slot), and you may shoot all three time slots if you like.  We will be shooting Saturday AM (9:00 AM) Saturday PM (1:00) and Sunday AM (9:00).  Squads will be limited to 12 shooters so things should go quickly.

This match should have a broad appeal.  3 Gun shooters can use their pistol, shotgun, and even PCC.  Fun Shooters will find it very familiar.  If you've never shot a match before it should be easy enough to do.  There are a lot of options as far as what kind of guns you can use.  Everyone can use practice shooting steel, and there won't be a ton of pressure, as we will not be doing payouts to winners.

The other interesting thing we're trying this match is we are allowing two person teams to shoot.  Two people will be shooting each array simultaneously, if they choose to shoot as a team.

For more details please read the rules and match information that is attached to the application available at http://tinyurl.com/York-Falling-Steel

We will only be taking 216 shooters total, so don't wait too long to get your application in the mail.

Climbing wall for the MAMGC

Paul Nowotarski and I built the climbing wall for pit 4 today.  It's a little taller than I was thinking so we're going to change the pistol to no magazine inserted, empty chamber, and holstered.  Paul took this picture of me on my first attempt.  We thought it was funny.
By the way, the penalty for going around it is only 20 seconds.

Yes there is a FunShoot this weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend.  I can't think of a better time to be on the range.  This Saturday, the 27th of May we will be hosting our monthly FunShoot.

Target count will be around 100-125 falling steel targets (maybe more....). There will be some movement required of the shooter, but not a ton.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, the 26th at 3pm. Email me if you are interested in helping out, it will take less than an hour.

May 21st 3 gun match at York

This match is now FULL.  Amazingly it took until almost noon on Thursday.  I would also like to remind you all that our June match, the Invictus Practical Mid-Atlantic Multi-Gun Championship is also full.  We do have waiting lists for both days.
We will be hosting this month's 3 Gun Match sponsored by Blackhawk! on Sunday, May 21st.  Sign up for this match begins at 6:00 PM today.

It will be 6 stages and all 3 guns will be used.  We may be using slugs, rifle and shotgun slings this match, and we do expect to use most of, if not all, of the 200 yards available on the rifle range.  The match fee will be $30.

The match day schedule is as follows:

7:o0 finish set up (help is always appreciated)
8:00 registration begins
8:30 registration ends (anyone arriving after 8:30 is a spectator)
8:45 mandatory match briefing
9:00 shooting begins
To sign up for this match email us at yorksignup@gmail.com with your name, division, and squad requests.  You should receive a confirmation within a day or two.

Don't take too long to sign up.  We do have a maximum number of shooters we will take for each of our matches and we do expect the matches to fill quickly.  Conversely, don't sign up if you don't intend to shoot, and if something comes up and you're not going to make it please let us know as soon as possible.  Thursday April 6th at midnight is the cut off for backing out without penalty.  People who persist in not showing up after signing up will not be invited back.  We want to benefit as many shooters as possible this year.

April FunShoot

This coming Saturday, April the 22th, we will be hosting our monthly FunShoot.
On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.

Target count will be around 100-125 falling steel targets (maybe more....). There will be some movement required of the shooter, but not a ton.
This is a free form shoot. I will present shooters with targets, it is up to the shooter to decide how best to engage them, as long as it is done in a safe manner.

Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, the 21th at 3pm. Email me if you are interested in helping out, it will take less than an hour.

April 3 Gun Results

It was a long day, but the weather was perfect and the competition fierce.  When the smoke cleared Buddy Knight emerged with a victory and the early lead in the Keystone Munitions Point Series.

Here is a link to PractiScore where you can always find our results. When you search keep in mind the York is the first word in all our matches.
