Long Range Egg Shoot, Saturday, February 5th

On Saturday, February 5th we will be hosting a Long Range Egg Shoot.  This is the one on the rifle range where you use a 22lr to shoot egg size, and shaped steel at 50. 75, 100 and 125 yards from the benches.  Do not underestimate these targets.  The eggs are about 2" tall.  We've had people see how hard this is and quit.  But if you have a decent 22lr and know your dope this is really fun, quick and requires some skill.  It's a perfect starter sport for those wanting to shoot 22lr PRS and good practice for those who do.

When you sign up at yorksignup@gmail.com you will be assigned a specific time sometime after 9:00 am and you will be expected to be there 20 minutes before your start time to prep your gear, and check in.  You will get your time in the reply to your sign up email.  The match fee is $20.  At your designated time you will shoot 50 yards.  A few minutes later you will shoot 75 yards, and so on.  So theoretically you may be on the range for as little as 30 minutes.  Of course you're welcome to come earlier, and stay as long as you want to watch, but if it is cold you won't have to suffer as long.  That being said we will need spotters so everyone can't just shoot and scoot.  Plan on helping a little if you don't mind.

Everyone has a scheduled time so you being a no show or late has no remedy and will be greatly frowned upon.

I have a two page document with some tips for beginners that may be of interest to you.  If you'd like a copy of that, and/or you'd like to sign up email me at yorksignup@gmail.com

2022 Multi Gun Point Series

We are allowing sign up for the 2022 Multi Gun Point Series hosted by York IWLA #67. The entry fee for the Point Series is $100, which does not include any entries to individual matches. The prize table will be for everyone in the Point Series in the order of finish.  If you cannot be there, someone will be allowed to pick for you.

We are excited to announce that we will be adding an Open and 2 Gun ( rifle / pistol ) Division to the series. There must be a minimum of 10 paid competitors (by 1/31/22) in each division before that division will be recognized as valid. Only matches that are shot in the particular division, that the competitor signed up in, will be recognized. The number of participants in the October 9th shoot-off, in these new divisions, will depend on how many competitors sign up. Each of these divisions will have their own prize table. You will find the new 2 Gun Division rule set in the attached word document at 5.6.

The top 16 Tac Ops Point Series finishers will be invited to compete in the Shoot-Off, as will the top 2 Seniors, Super Seniors, Ladies, and Juniors. Shoot-Off prizes will be cash.

We have already heard back from several sponsors and the list is growing every week. We are excited about the new partners coming on board for this year.

Egg Shoot results

I think everyone had a great New Year's Day, and I think we all stayed dry despite the constant showers.  Thanks for all your help.

We will be shooting long range eggs again Saturday, February 5th.  I've already thought of a few things to make it more efficient.  Expect the post to sign up about a week before.  This is part of the monthly fun shoot series, and is just a laid back good time.  If you have an accurate 22lr you should come shoot.

Congratulations to Don Vetter for some pretty good shooting.  He only had 5 misses across the 40 eggs out to 125 yards.

These scores are out of a possible 260 points.
