March 2016 FunShoot

This Saturday, the 26th of March, 2016, we will be hosting a 5 stage FunShoot.

We are moving closer to an all steel event each month, so I think we can try something a little new. You can run any one or combination of two of the following guns, pistol caliber handgun, pistol caliber carbine or shotgun. There will not be a 3 gun option.

Target count will be 80-100.
Final setup and registration at 8am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for those lucky enough to be under 18 years.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, email me if you are interested in helping out.

Howard got us a new toy for us to play with, I really think you are going to like it.

As always, York is a cold range, all firearms will remain unloaded until the shooter is at the firing line and directed to do so.
Conceal carry is forbidden at this event.

That being said, you can carry your unloaded firearm around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, carted or in a sock.  Long guns require a chamber flag. You can load magazines and carry them just don't put them in the gun.

Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!

Everyone on the range MUST wear eye and ear protection. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion.

A note about Aprils FunShoot, it has been moved to Saturday April 16th.

For questions, please feel free to comment here, or email me at ghswope@gmail.com

March results are up

Sorry about the delay getting these up.  It was a long day, and some things complicated getting these posted, but I got it all sorted out and here they are

https://practiscore.com/results/17391

Thanks for coming out today.   Even the rain couldn't keep us from having fun.  Overall I think things went very well for the first match of the year, but I see some ways we can improve, and we will.  I look forward to seeing you in April.

March Action Match

Match is full.  You may email yorksignup@gmail.com to be placed on the waiting list.

Sign up is now open for the March Action Match.  Don't take too long to sign up.  We do have a maximum number of shooters we will take for each of our matches and we do expect the matches to fill quickly.  Conversely, don't sign up if you don't intend to shoot, and if something comes up and you're not going to make it please let us know as soon as possible.  People who persist in not showing up after signing up will not be invited back.  We want to benefit as many shooters as possible this year.

We will be hosting our first action match of the year on Sunday, March 13th.  It is not a point series match, but it will be 6 stages and all 3 guns will be used.  We will not be using slugs or slings for this match, but we do expect to use most of, if not all, of the 200 yards available on the rifle range.  The match fee will be $30.

The match day schedule is as follows:
7:30 finish set up (help is always appreciated)
8:00 registration begins
8:30 registration ends (anyone arriving after 8:30 is a spectator)
8:45 mandatory match briefing
9:00 shooting begins

The rules we will be using are available at http://tinyurl.com/2016yorkfnh3gun There have been changes made to the rule set as late as this week.  This version supersedes all others.

To sign up for this match email us at yorksignup@gmail.com with your name, division, and squad requests.  You should receive a confirmation within a day or two if you're in.
