Thanks all for participating in the Long range egg shoot today. The weather was perfect and we had a nice turnout and great scores. The family participation was awesome! Hope to see everyone again on the Feb 18th, same time same place.
Congratulations to Vaughn for the win! He shot a 59 out of a possible 60.
For our youth shooters Scarlett and Remi both shot a 45. The tie was broken the most hits @ 125 yards giving Scarlett the youth win.
On Sat. Jan. 27th we will be holding a Long Range Egg Shoot on the rifle range. Arrive at 9:00am to help set up and first shots will be at 10:00am. For registration and additional information contact Don at mail@dvetter.com. In case of inclement weather we will notify those who have registered by email.
This is a 22lr only event where you will shoot egg size and shaped steel at 50, 75, 100 and 125 yards, supported, from a bench. The eggs are about 2" tall and you get 15 shots at each distance. There are 10 eggs at each distance, so a possible score of 40 for eggs hit, plus one point for each unused “extra” round making the maximum possible score 60. This is an untimed event. If you have a decent 22lr and know your dope for each distance this is fun, quick, and challenging. It's a perfect starter sport for those wanting to shoot 22lr PRS and good practice for those who do. Bags, rests, and bipods are allowed to stabilize your rifle.
No magnum high velocity ammunition. Eye and ear protection is mandatory for all. Rifles must have an empty chamber indicator. The match is $20. There is a two-page document with some tips for beginners that can be emailed to those who are interested.
