Summer Blast stages

4 of the 10 stages are mostly done for the match already thanks to a fairly small but hard working group. Bob P. decorating the props in pit 6. We are lucky to have a professional artist on our crew.

Practice tip

GM Paul M. says you should always use either hard cover or no-shoot covered targets at practice. These targets will make you focus on your sight picture far more than wide open targets.

I agree that you must make things difficult for yourself at practice. If you can make the hard shots, then the simple ones will be really easy. The last few majors I went to I remember thinking we practice and shoot our matches at York a little on the easy side. You may have noticed that the targets have been getting farther away and there has been more and more hard cover at York. We still want our matches to be fun, and there will always be some run & gun hosaramas, but we must challenge ourselves also.

Practice is one place where we must challenge ourselves constantly. Don't practice the things you are good at, practice the things that are your weaknesses.

Summer Blast set up Sunday

Sunday, from 9:00am through maybe 2:00pm we'll be setting up for the Summer Blast. Help is appreciated and Larry never forgets hose who work for him. If you get a chance come over and lend a hand.

The Summer Blast should be quite an event this year. There are over 300 competitors this year shooting the 200+ rounds on 10 stages.

If you're not signed up yet I think it's too late. From what I hear the match filled up 5 weeks after it was announced.
