This Saturday the 28th of April, we will be presenting our monthly FunShoot.
Today's Steel Challenge match was a lot of fun, and breathed new life into this wearied, overwintered soul. Next weekend brings the annual PSA Shootout, an annual pilgrimage for many of us. Therefore, this months shoot will be practice for those of us shooting PSA on Sunday.
Expect 150 or more falling steel targets, in 6-7 stages
This is a free form shoot. I will present shooters with targets, it is up to the shooter to decide how best to engage them, as long as it is done in a safe manner.
On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 (or more) to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.
Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.
There will be a setup this Friday afternoon at 3pm. Please Email me if you are interested in helping out.
York is a cold range. Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, slung, carted or in a sock. Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale.
There is no carrying of loaded firearms, open or concealed.
Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!
Everyone on the range MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH SIDE SHIELDS. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion. There will be eye protection for sale.

Steel Challenge is back!
We are going
to host a Steel Challenge at our club on Sunday, April 22nd. Steel Challenge is a simple to shoot (not
necessarily easy to master) sport wndhere you may use pistols, revolvers, or pistol caliber
carbines that are iron sighted or scoped, and rimfire or centerfire calibers. It is far less complicated than USPSA or 3
Gun and that makes it a great sport for newer shooters. You may view the official rules and stages at
We will use
the official rules, and shoot the 8 stages listed in the linked pdf, but
allowances may be made for youth, as this is not an official match.
Acceptable
calibers include 22lr (no hyper velocity) 9mm, 38 special, 40 S&W, and 45
ACP in either pistols or carbines.
Others may be allowed with prior approval. No bottle neck calibers will be allowed. No steel jacketed or core bullets will be
allowed.
There will
be 2 shooting times 9:00 and 12:00. At
9:00 we will shoot the stages Roundabout,
Outer Limits, Smoke & Hope, and Five to Go.
At 12:00 we will shoot the stages Showdown, Speed Option, Pendulum, and
Accelerator. You may shoot one time slot
for $20, or both time slots for $30.
Divisions include:

If you would
like to shoot this match please email us at yorksignup@gmail.com and tell us your name, division, am, pm or both, and anyone you
wish to be squadded with. You should
receive a confirmation email within a day or two.
The day of
the match we will meet at the back gate at least 20 minutes prior to your start
time to get everyone registered and paid, and do the match briefing.
There will
not be time to leave the range between am and pm time slots. Please bring food and beverages for lunch.
Please do
not sign up if you’re not sure you can make it, and if you have to drop out do
so well in advance. Slots are limited
and we want to support as many shooters as possible this year. Repeat no-shows will not be invited back.
Remember,
this is not an official Steel Challenge match and scores will not count towards
your classification, and no prizes will be awarded.

Rimfire Precision Match at BCGF 4/29/18
If you missed the last one at York, this is your chance. This will be the same format but only seven stages. Baltimore County Game and Fish Protective Association (BCGF) is located off of Harford Road, the east side of I-695. It is about 45 minutes from York IWLA. This year Lou and I are running three of these at York and three at BCGF.
You need a magazine fed .22 LR with a scope. Make and model doesn't matter. Targets will be 2 MOA on average, from 15 to 195 yds. The most important thing is to have solid DOPE for your ammo and firearm.
The match signup is up on Practiscore. Due to range constraints, this will be limited to 30 shooters and will start at noon. I'm expecting this one will fill pretty fast. Cost is $25. Be aware that is the weekend of PSA, so keep that in mind.
If you have any questions, give Lou or I a call. We'll both be at the 3G match tomorrow as well.
