June FunShoot

This Saturday, the 25th of June, 2016, we will be hosting a 5 stage falling steel FunShoot.

On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 shot or smaller). You can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns per stage.

Pistol caliber carbine means any standard velocity pistol caliber, in a small rifle platform; .22LR, 9mm, .357, .40, .45, 300 BO subsonic and the like.  No high power.

Target count will be 100-125 ish. There will be little movement required of the shooter.

Final setup and registration at 8am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for those lucky enough to be under 18 years.

There will be a setup for this Friday afternoon, the 24th, email me if you are interested in helping out. This one will probably take about an hour.

Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, carted or in a sock.  Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale.

Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!

Everyone on the range MUST wear eye protection. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion.

Now for this month's cool thing:

I'd like to ask everyone to stick an extra $20 bill in their wallet for a great cause.  We will be selling raffle tickets to support 31 Heroes.  www.31heroes.org  This is an exceptional organization that supports veterans that suffer from TBI and PTSD.   What makes this one better than the rest is that 100% of the money goes to the cause, there are no administrative costs. This is a volunteer organization, run by some of the best in our sport.

The raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and the prize is a very special Sig Sauer 226 MK25 with 31 Heroes markings and the SEAL anchor.  The MK25 is the pistol carried by SEALS and has special features, including a longer barrel, and light rail.  Only 31 of these special edition pistols were made for 31 Heroes.

We are honored to have one to raffle off and we want to really make some money for this group and the people they can help.  The pistol will be on display Saturday.  Please be generous.  The pistol is cool, but it's really about making a difference for veterans who deserve our help.

Sensibly Armed Point Series standings

Here are the point series standings following the Invictus Practical Mid-Atlantic Multi-Gun Championship.  There are still 3 matches to go, and only the best 4 out of 6 still count so many of you still have a chance to win this thing, or at least make the shoot-off.

Is it coincidence that the sponsor of the series is also the points leader's primary sponsor?  No, I don't think so.  Rich has shot very well consistently all year.

The first column of numbers is the place in the last match.  The second column is the number of points earned last match.  The third column is the total number of points earned so far this season.  Keep in mind that the 16th place guy last year, who qualified for the shoot off had 176 points.  It is possible that Rich and I have already clinched a spot.

If there is an asterisk behind your name you are registered as a senior (over 55).  If the are 2 you are a super senior (over 65).

2016 Mid-Atlantic Multi-Gun Championship results

The results for the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Multi-Gun Championship are available at https://practiscore.com/results/21385

Congratulations to Greg Jordan on his win!  We are especially proud of Greg because he is our hometown hero.  He is hard working and humble to a fault.  He is the perfect role model for aspiring shooters.  However, the competition is creeping up him a little.  James McGinty was closer in second place than anyone has been to Greg at any of our matches in a very long time, and Joe Pitha is no slouch, coming in third.  The competition was stiffer than ever.  There are a few guys who are always in our top ten: Buddy Knight, Rich Yoder, and Todd Sindelar.  Some new guys to the top ten: Pierre LeClair, Blaese Romano and pistol phenom Dave Olhasso.  And one guy who is really an up and comer at 8th place: Garrett Boop who finished 28th last year and hadn't even gotten started by the  2014 MAMGC.

We also want to congratulate Brian Miller for winning Open, and Paul Weichec for his win in Limited.

A big thanks to all of our competitors and staff for making this the best MAMGC yet!

We will wait a few days to call the results final, and then we will post the winners of the brackets, and the amounts won.  We will be mailing checks.

Expect the applications for next year's MAMGC around Christmas time.  We're looking forward to another great match in 2017, and we expect it to fill up quickly.  Don't delay getting yours in the mail.
