Trauma Aid Class
This class is full. We'll have to schedule another one this summer.
We're getting Andy Snyder to come back to go another trauma aid class at 2:00 pm on April 28th. The cost is $40 and it will be an excellent use of 2 1/2 hours. Andy cuts out all of the BS and gets right to it. You will learn how to use tourniquets, quickclot, chest seals and more. This is really about treating life threatening gun shot wounds. I highly recommend you take this class. The life you save may be your own. Or mine.

FUNSHOOT IS ON!
Many thanks to the crew that showed up today. We were able to knock out a modest 4 1/2 stage shoot for tomorrow in under and hour. Keep in mind, it is sloppy and wet, so bring chairs.
All shooting will be from boxes tomorrow, no movement due to the snow.
see you in the morning.

IMPORTANT FUNSHOOT UPDATE!!
The snow has dealt us with a bit of a twist this month, Most of our targets are covered with about a foot of snow. This means the setup crew will need to find them to put them out, while slopping through the deep, slushy, mucky stuff. To date, only 1 person has confirmed with me that they can help (I have gotten some "no show" notices, for good reason, and I am not asking those to change their minds).
The success of Saturdays shoot will depend entirely on how many folks show up to help tomorrow. The official setup time is 3pm (for prolly 2 hours), but I know some cannot do that. If you can help outside of that time window, please let me know, and I will give you an independant task.
If I don't get enough folks, we will be forced to cancel. Please watch the blog for updates, I will post tomorrow evening. Remember, the blog post emails don't go out until the wee hours of the morning after the post is posted, so be pro-active and look.
Did I mention the setup helpers get a match fee discount of $5/hr (given generously).
Hope to see you all over the next couple of days.

March FunShoot is on!
This Saturday the 24th of March, we will be hosting our monthly FunShoot.
We will be sporting 6 1/2 stages in the back pits. Target count will be around 100-125 falling steel targets.
This is a free form shoot. I will present shooters with targets, it is up to the shooter to decide how best to engage them, as long as it is done in a safe manner.
On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 (or more) to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.
Registration is from 8-8:30am, safety brief at 8:45, shooting close to 9am, we should be done by 1pm-ish.
Cost is $20 for adults, $5 for kids under 18.
There will be a setup this Friday afternoon at 3pm. Please Email me if you are interested in helping out.
York is a cold range. Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, slung, carted or in a sock. Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale.
There is no carrying of loaded firearms, open or concealed.
Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!
Everyone on the range MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH SIDE SHIELDS. We will be shooting steel, and it creates shrapnel, little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion. There will be eye protection for sale.

The match is going on as scheduled.
We will be hosting this month's 3 Gun Match, March 11th. It will be 6 stages and all 3 guns will be used. We will be using slugs, rifle and shotgun slings this match, and we do expect to use most of, if not all, of the 200 yards available on the rifle range. The match fee will be $30.
The match day schedule is as follows:
7:00 finish set up (help is always appreciated)
8:00 registration begins
8:30 registration ends (anyone arriving after 8:30 is a spectator)
8:45 mandatory match briefing
9:00 shooting begins
To sign up for this match email us at yorksignup@gmail.com with your name, division, and squad requests. You should receive a confirmation within a day or two.
Don't take too long to sign up. We do have a maximum number of shooters we will take for each of our matches and we do expect the matches to fill quickly. Conversely, don't sign up if you don't intend to shoot, and if something comes up and you're not going to make it please let us know as soon as possible. Thursday September 7th at midnight is the cut off for backing out without penalty. People who persist in not showing up after signing up will not be invited back. We want to benefit as many shooters as possible this season.
