Sunday, June 24th Egg Shoot

On Sunday, June 24th we will host an Egg Shoot which you can shoot with a 22lr rifle, and/or pistol.  The targets are steel about the size and shape of a large chicken egg.  With a pistol you shoot 10 of them at 7, 9, 11, and 13 yards for a total of 40 targets.  You only get one shot at each.  So this is not an ammo intensive sport.  It's really not timed either, although you don't have all day to get it done.  With a rifle it is the same game except the distances are 10, 15, 20 and 25 yards.  Done standing unsupported.

There are divisions for iron sights, red dots, and magnified scopes for either type of firearm, and this year we are going to let you shoot two times with different firearms in the same time slot.  So you can shoot pistol and rifle.

This is actually a very quick day.  We'll start shooting around 9:00 am and we should be done by noon.  This does not require expensive equipment or a lot of practice.  It's a great thing to bring your kids, spouse or friends that aren't really serious about competition to.  It's a lot like a 22lr fun shoot.

Entry fee will be $20 and $5 for those under 18.  If you're a committee member who has earned a discount you may use it.

You can sign up now at yorksignup@gmail.com, and you should receive a confirmation within a day or two.  Get those 22s ready to go!
