Egg Shoot Feb 2nd

Cancelled, we'll try again sometime.

On Saturday, February 2nd we will be hosting an Egg Shoot on our rifle range.  This will be the fabled long distance 22lr Egg Shoot you may have heard about, but we've never done.  There will 10 egg targets at each of 4 distances: 50, 75, 100, and 125 yards.  You will have 2 minutes per bank on 10 eggs at each distance, and you may shoot from any position including the bench.  You may use bags, rest and/or bipods.  Additionally there will be a large piece of steel next to each bank that you may use for sighters.  However, the sighters will be shot within your 2 minutes.  You will be allowed to shoot up to 15 rounds at each distance and may use them all on the eggs, all on the sighter plate, or any combination in between.  Each egg you hit will be worth one point.  Each unused round will be worth one point.

The point of the sighter plate is that you don't really have to be 100% ready.  If you have a 22lr that will shoot, with a sight that you can see eggs at 125 yards come play.  This should be challenging, unless you're one of Lou's 22lr PRS guys.

Match fee is $20.  Discounts apply if you have earned them.

Set up will be at 9:00 am and we should start shooting by 10:00 am.  We will have this match if it's cold, but we will cancel for serious rain or snow.  We can hide in the stat shack and warm up and we might have a burn barrel or two in the parking lot.

To sign up email yorksignup@gmail.com and let me know if there's anyone you wish to be squadded with.

January FunShoot, Saturday Jan 26th

The weather next weekend is looking stupid cold, but clear, so lets give it a go for something quick n easy.

There are several plate racks out in the bays now. We can add some easy drop trees and stars and just go a plinking for a while. I imagine it won't take long to get " cold enough".

Lets setup Saturday morning at 10 am (let it get at least a tad warmer).  We will throw out whatever the hardy souls that show up feel like putting out. When that is done, I'll take $10 (kids are always $5) for any one who helped out, and we will group up and go play.

Boilerplate follows:
On any stage, you can run any one or combination of two of the following guns; standard pistol caliber handgun, standard pistol caliber carbine or shotgun (7 1/2 lead shot or smaller). You may bring all 3 (or more) to the shoot, and you can change the choice of guns on different stages, but only two guns max per stage.

York is a cold range. Unloaded firearms are carried around the range holstered, boxed, bagged, slung, carted or in a sock. Long guns require a chamber flag, and they will be for sale.

Bring family and friends, we are very new shooter and kid friendly. Spectators are welcome!

Everyone on the range MUST WEAR EYE PROTECTION WITH SIDE SHIELDS. We will be shooting steel, and it creates little flying bits of metal that can hit you on occasion. There will be eye protection for sale.

cheers

Mid Atlantic Multi Gun Championship is open

This match is unique in the world of major outlaw 3 gun matches in several respects;

1. You can shoot the whole match in one day.

2. Prizes are all checks.  This means you don't have to stick around for a prize table.  If you shoot on Saturday you can go home Saturday night.

3. The prizes are generous.  We pay out 50% of the gross.  That is a lot of money.  Over $12,000 last year.

4. We give prizes way down the list in Tac Ops.  By using a modified Lewis class payout scheme if you pick your class correctly and shoot to the best of your ability you have a chance to win hundreds of dollars even if you are way towards the bottom.

5. We're about as far north and east as any major 3 gun.  Only Topton's team 3 gun is farther north or east, and it's a great match but it's not for individuals.  That's why we draw a lot of shooters from the Mid-Atlantic states, the northeast and Canada on a regular basis.

This 7 stage match will fill up quickly.  Do not hesitate to sign up if you want your choice of days.

Lunch is included for all shooters.  Additional food and drinks are available for purchase.
Shooters registered before 4/1/18 get a t-shirt included in their entry fee.
$125 is very reasonable for a major match.
