More June match pics

Lucito shoots from the table. This pit full of 6 round stages was a lot of fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I guess because it is so different from what we do these days. But, back in the old days Paul and I did this stuff all the time.
"Big Love" Scotty M. runs and guns on stage 9. Yes, that right we did 9 stages this month. We're here to shoot. This picture was taken by Dave A. on his phone and then he emailed it to me.
"Wonder boy" Greg J. helps Jeff K. calibrate steel the morning of the match. You can't underestimate how much we appreciate the help we get the morning of the match. Normally we have the bulk of set-up done well ahead of time, but things are still hectic in the am.

Jeff took a little sabatical. It is great to have him back!

Wonder Boy always pitches in, and he is becoming a force to reckon with. This win makes his 7th straight level 1 division win. He's only shot 8. He was second in division his first time out. That Sevigny guy better watch his back.

June match pics

As if winning the limited division, designing the match, setting up in the morning, and enduring the heat wasn't enough Paul M. managed to take a bunch of match pictures for the blog as well. Here's the first installment. Jan Barnes ripping it up on Pit 7. ROed by Dave R.
Wally P. moving out on Pit 1. Again Dave R. ROs.
Dave S. shooting one of the three tables on pit 5. ROs John Z. and Jim S. From what I hear everyone really enjoyed the three tables. Big run and guns are great, but I think there is room in our sport for all kinds of courses. This match certainly included the whole spectrum.

I don't have the complete results, and it doesn't appear they're posted yet, but the preliminary results showed Paul M. winning Limited, Rod E. winning Open, Greg J. winning Production, Brian C. winning L10, and I got lucky and took Carbine. That carbine shooting is a ton of fun. If you don't have one yet you need one.

Results

The results may be a little later than usual. Probably by tomorrow morning sometime. We were late getting them to Kevin so he could post the to our website, because the only two people who had copies of the database went swimming after the match, and I just got home and emailed them. What can I say, it was HOT!

Look for pictures from the match with commentary here in the next day or two.

The results will be posted on our website www.yorkiwlaipsc.org

I will eventually get around to posting some video on my YouTube page also.

Help wanted!

I could use some help taking pictures at the matches. Bob P.and I have been taking as many as we can, but he won't be at this match and I can't be everywhere, so if you have a digital camera snap a few pics at the next match for me. After the match if you have some good ones email them to me and I'll post them on this blog. I'm always looking for pictures of our matches or anything that might be off interest to others.

People seem to think this blog must be an extraordinary amount of work. Actually it's really easy, but finding stuff to post is sometimes difficult. I'm always open to your ideas.

Thanks-

June stages

Sean and Ben rig an out and back on pit 5. There are 2 swingers, 2 out and backs, and two bear traps in this match.
If you peek throught his door on pit 4 you can see what awaits at the end. A port with 2 swingers activated by pepper poppers. There will be two doors in this hallway tyoe stage one left handed, one right handed.
The house is a 32 round run and gun affair with 6 steel at the beginning that must be engaged from about 17 yards. After that it's off to the races.

June set up

GM Paul M. shown here demonstrating the kneeling position to Kevin M. is an excellent teacher. He is the chief architect of this month's match. It is an incredible looling match so far. 9 stages, 158 rounds , and several movers. Much of the stuff is harder than we normally do, but there is still a lot of really fun stuff too. He brought back some elements from the past that we haven't used in quite some time in York for this one.
Pit 5 actually has 3 six round stages. Real fast, real simple, yet real challenging.
This is from the RO briefing for pit 4. I don't know why, but this picture just cracks me up.
