IWLA Grounds Closed Saturday

The entire place is closed for the annual Youth Field Day, sponsored by the York Area Sportsmen for Youth, this Saturday, June 2nd.  This is a great outdoors event for kids ages 8-18, exposing them to things from archery to canoeing to fishing to trap shooting and plenty more.  Attendance is by pre registration only, is limited to 200 kids, fills up fast and is free to all.  If you missed out this year, watch our club calendar (http://www.yorkiwla.org/id21.html) for next years date (usually 'round the first weekend in June) and sign your kids up.  They will love it.

Finally!  Sorry for the delay folks, got totally wrapped up in my own thing, and it slipped.
Thanks to everyone who came out, a few of us were real beat by the end of the second flight, but it was worth it to see your smiles.

Fall Team 3 gun

The Spring Team 3 Gun is barely over and we can't wait to have another one.  Luckily we already had one scheduled for Sunday, September 9th.  Check your calendars, gather your teammates, fill out your application and get and your check in the mail.  We're only taking 49 teams again so don't wait too long.  You don't want to get left out.

Afternoon slots now open to all

The morning slot is still full with a waiting list, but the afternoon is light, so if you want to shoot in the afternoon that's great, even if you've already signed up for the morning.  If you already have your morning slot and want to shoot both am and pm just let me know.

10:00am time slot is full

The 10:00am time slot is full.  There are still quite a few 1:00pm slots available.  We're not taking second requests yet, but may start about this time tomorrow night.

May 26th Falling Steel Fun Shoot

On Saturday May 26th we will be hosting a falling steel fun shoot that should interest both the regular fun shoot crowd, the USPSA shooters, and the multi-gunners.  It will be exactly like our February falling steel match and there will be plenty of options available for everyone.

The fee will be $15, there will be about 100 pieces of steel,  and you may shoot at either 10:00am or 1:00pm.  We will not be taking sign ups for both time slots at this time.  By about Wednesday if the match isn't filled up, as I expect it to, we may take people for second time slots, check back to see.  There will not be any payout for this as it is a fun shoot. 

No rimfires will be allowed in this shoot.  It's just too complicated to run centerfire and rimfire together in a falling steel match.

The following types of guns will be allowed:
CF Pistol
CF Pistol caliber carbine
Shotgun (6 or smaller shot only)

Combinations as follow are also allowed:
CF Pistol and CF Carbine
CF Pistol and Shotgun
CF Carbine and Shotgun

Within each type of gun used it will fall into one of these divisions:
Revolver
Single Stack
Production
Limited
Tactical
Open

Remember this is Memorial Day weekend.  Check with the wife before you sign up.

Don't hesitate to sign up if you want to shoot as this match filled up very quickly last time, but don't sign up if you're not going to be there either.  Persistent no shows will be banned.

Team F3GN aka Lancer 1

Kirk is working on a youtube channel for our 3 gun team.  There is a video of us shooting a couple of the stages from the York Team 3 Gun a couple weeks ago that is worth watching.

Stage 7 was a 41 target Free-for-all stage that we shot in 12.12 seconds.  The next closest team was 16 seconds.  It's beautiful when a plan comes together.

Range Closure

All of our ranges will be closed all weekend (5/12-5/13),  to make room for some other important events for the club.
