My opinion on Fun Shoot

The fun shoot was great, and shouldn't be overshadowed by one idiot so read Gary's post, learn from it, and let's move on.

First, I want to say how impressed I am at the job Gary and Mark are doing with this Fun Shoot thing. Their dedication is endless and they deserve to be commended on presenting a very diverse set of shooting challenges in a very enjoyable manner to shooters with a wide variety of skill levels. There truly is something for everyone. I think everyone, from beginner to master, can both learn something, and be proud of what they already know at these shoots.

Second, I think the shooters also deserve some commendation. So far, in our first 2 fun shoots we've had over an average of around 45 shooters when the temperature averaged around 35 degrees. That's dedication! The other thing that impresses me about the shooters is how they're bring out the new people and getting them involved. Not only are they shooting, but they're helping and that's really important. I have also noticed everyone seems to be getting better too.

Fun, honing our skills, comraderie, and making a lot of noise, man it just doesn't get any better than that!

Let me compliment Mark and Gary on the fine match this month and likewise, since they have taken over the FUN SHOOT. I can not think of another skill that could be safely tested in such a match. The quality of the shooters is improving both in the newbies and the ancients. The stages are all straight forward, the rest is up to the shooter. Still it all remains a "fun shoot". My wife was with me for the first time at a competition. She previously did not understand and inherently dislikes guns. That has changed now. She stayed the entire time, and maintained interest. Unfortunately she found out I have more than one gun, but that will be a discussion for another time. RTP

This is my second year attending the fun shoot and it is great. Gary and Mark have done a great job especially this year starting out with so many new people coming out and the large turnout this year all ready. Gary and Mark come up with some fun and very challenging courses every month. THANK you Gary and Mark for all of the fun.

OK, who had the guts/insanity to shoot the clays from the 25 yard line other than me?

Thanks to everyone for my great, first experience with a FUN SHOOT. Great course layout with safety being of utmost importance. Tee Time was challenging, but for some reason I did better on that than the clay birds (Didn't break any!)
Thanks again!
John

I smoked all 6 from 25 yards and thought it was easy. I'd shoot them from 50 if allowed. I've done it at practice. I could then get 300 points for one stage? Nice!

Oh, by the way, I was using a Model 41 S&W .22lr with a dot scope. It's so accurate it's almost like cheating.
